For added strength and safety, the book box on Scholar Craft's 900 Series is constructed of heavy-duty 20-gauge embossed steel with rolled edges. The writing surface/lid is 18" x 24" and is attached with a high-quality, full-width piano hinge. Two adjustable friction hinges and rubber bumper cushion assure safe, secure, and quiet operation even by young students. The 980 Series features a chair with 5/8" Melamine Resin solid plastic seat and back. The 900 Series is offered in a variety of different seating and writing surface material and color options.
